Spring is soooo here and I’m loving it ❤ I can feel the beach calling… I don’t think I’ll be able to answer right away, but it’s definitely calling!
But before hitting the beach and rocking our bikinis, there are a few outfits we’ll need to wear. So in this post, I’ll show you some pieces you can find that fit one of this spring summer trends: the English Rose.
What’s an “English Rose”?
An English Rose is defined as “an attractive English girl with a delicate, fair-skinned complexion regarded as typically English” (New Oxford American Dictionary)
InStyle defines the character as:
“Romance is not dead for our heroine of all that is light, for she will always be there to lend a hand and stand up for what is right—whether it’s organizing a charity benefit or perfecting her découpage. Socially minded, she cherishes both femininity and feminism, but she’s not afraid to look pretty for pretty’s sake.”
How do I see it? She is sensitive. She’s sweet. But not naive. I see pink – light pink. Pastel. I see flowers. I see flimsy dresses. I see Emma Watson. I see Chloe Moretz. I see Kirsten Dunst and Kate Bosworth. I see English (and yes, I know that the last 3 actresses are not English :p ).
How do you get the look? According to InStyle:
Make a study of Lady Mary in Downton Abbey. Ruffles, bows, and floral prints—the summer’s flower is to the summer sweet. As fashion takes a nostalgic turn, exemplified by Sarah Burton’s garden-worthy adventures at Alexander McQueen and the wallpaper prints of Emilia Wickstead, let the sun shine bright by saying yes to the pleasures of pink blooms.
So, now that you now how to get the look, let’s see where can you get it?
