Checkers: SS15 Trend

Hello there,

It’s been a long time, and I’m sorry about that. I hope that you all are great, that you are enjoying summer, and…that you are ready to take some fashion risks. Because in this post, I will write about a particular print: the checkers.

This trend could be seen on various catwalks, including Diane von Furstenberg, Michael Kors, and Altuzarra.

More affordable, and more easily wearable are the (very Belgian) pieces I will show you here 🙂

First of all, Essentiel-Antwerp proposes *amazing* pieces (as usual):

Military: SS15 Trend

Hello people,

How are you? I don’t know what the weather is like where you are, but here is purely Belgian weather. It’s rainy, grey, and then there’s a tiny ray of sunshine. Then it rains again. Which means that every morning, you have to get prepared… just as if you’re going to war 😉

In this post, I will show you pieces you can find to rock the military style, one of SS15 trends. I’ve always liked that style. I don’t know if it’s the same for you, but when I wear a military piece, a jacket for instance, I feel more powerful in a way; like I can do anything. I feel stronger strooooonger than yesterday, now is nothing but my waayyyyy. So here are pieces that can help you brave any sh*tty day!

Hotel Particulier proposes a suede jacket, and a long vest; while Zadig & Voltaire also has a nice sleeveless jacket.

Hippie Chic: SS15 Trend

Hello there,

How have you been mes amies?

Long dresses.  Colorful pants.  Fluid materials.  Fun prints.  We all love it.  Add a touch of elegance, and you have a Spring/Summer trend: Hippie Chic.  Designers such as Gucci, Etro, Pucci, Max Mara, and Dries Van Noten, were examples of actors of this seventies revival.

In this post, I will show you where you can find pieces to rock Vanessa Hudgens’ favorite style 🙂

Essentiel Antwerp has awesome maxi dresses with floral or abstract prints, that seem to be extremely nice to wear.  And if you are looking for a pair of wide leg pants that do not look like pajamas, you now know where to find them!

Hand-Held Bags: SS15 Trend

Hello there,

A recurrent trend was seen on the SS15 runway shows, on how to carry your beloved handbag.  Gucci, Tod’s, Chloé, Fendi, Lanvin, Victoria Beckham, to only name a few, are designers who presented hand-held bags with a long strap.

Broderie Anglaise: SS15 Trend

Hello girls,

How are you today?  This post is Part Three of the series on the Spring/Summer 2015 trends, and  is dedicated to the beautiful art of (white) embroidery.

Where can you find pieces that will make you look like a sweet little girl?  Funny that you ask my friends, because I have the answer right here 🙂

Let’s start with – drumroll please – IKKS.  IKKS and IKKS I.CODE offer various lace and/or embroidered pieces, ranging from dresses, to shirts, and including a nice little clutch:

Fringe: SS15 Trend

Hello girls,

Second installment of the SS15 trends, and I thought it would be great to write about the fringes trend… Just in time for Coachella 😉

During the fashion weeks, fringes were found on the Céline’s and Proenza Schouler’s runway,  here I will show you pieces that you can probably find more easily (and, if you’re like me, that you can afford!); namely pieces from IKKS, Essentiel Antwerp (yes, yet again), Diane Von Furstenberg, and March23.  Fringes will be found on jackets, bags, and even shoes!

First, a nice jacket in loose velvet leather from IKKS.  You can also find this jacket in black, but I think it looks great in camel.

Flower Power: SS15 Trend

Hey there girls,

How are you doing today?  Personally, I’m great.  You know why?  I can feel the spring coming!  We have a nice sunny day in Belgium today and it makes me chipper 🙂

What’s better than a sunny day to rock flowers, the first trend of the Spring/Summer 2015?  In this post, as promised, I will show various pieces from several brands that you can use to sport the trend.

I know that this is not the most original trend (as Miranda Priestly would say: “Florals?  For Spring?  Groundbreaking!”), but this is always efficient: it’s pretty, it’s girly, and it’s fresh.  So, let’s have a look at what the brands offer us.

If you read the post about my favorite looks from Essentiel Antwerp, then you must have noticed several pieces with a flower print already.  Here is a gorgeous sample of pieces that you can find in their SS15 collection:

Upcoming Series: Trends for the Spring Summer 2015

Bonjour les filles,

So, you know I want to review the SS15 collection of Mer du Nord, the last part of the series!  Unfortunately, I’m still waiting for the complete lookbook of the brand.  So, while we’re waiting I will write about the trends we will enjoy this summer.

As I’m sure you know (and if you don’t, I’m super glad to let you know), the seventies are making a comeback.  In a Weekend (more specifically, the First Black Weekend of the year – Weekend is a Belgian lifestyle magazine), 10 trends were identified for the Spring Summer 2015, ranging from Flower Power to Fringes.

First Purchase of the Season: Maxi Skirt from Kocca

Hey there,
How have you been?  You know I told you last week that I went shopping and that I found bought 2 lovely pieces.  Well, in this post I will show you this second item.
I bought a maxi skirt, also from Kocca.  When I saw it, I loved it immediately; but I wasn’t sure it would suit me, given that I’m quite short.  Well, guess what?!  It looked great, and I have to say I’m really glad about it 🙂
Check it out (I took the pictures from the brand’s website):

First Purchase of the Season: A Dress from Kocca

Hi there,
So I’ll make a small hiatus in the review of my favorite looks.  One of the reasons is that I’m still waiting on the presentation of the new collection proposed by Mer du Nord.  The other reason is that I want to tell you about a piece I bought.
I went shopping this week, and I found two pieces I absolutely love.  To be honest, I found plenty of pieces I absolutely love, what I meant to say is “among the tons of beautiful items in the boutique, I only bought two pieces”.
The article I will write about today is a dress from Kocca.  It’s a dress composed of two parts: a sort of mini and form hugging skirt, and a fluid and large blouse with a deep V-neck.  I will wear it with a white tank top underneath, since the V-neck is like, really deep.  I’m sure some women/girls would wear the dress with nothing underneath, but I wouldn’t pull it off.  I’d feel a little uncomfortable.  Besides, the skirt is already quite short… I don’t need to show everything 😉 As usual, I took the pictures from the brand’s website.  Let’s have a look:
